2.5 x 3.5 inch Atc Ink on Illustration Board. Day 76 Free Art
During the first six months of The Creature Card Creation Project I mean a fellow artist on Listia named Ungala. She asked if I had ever heard of something called an ATC. To that date I had not and she sweetly sent me a care package of some precut cards to work on. I believe they were use in the watercolor cards created in April 2012. She still posts Atc's on listia from time to time and is a supporter of this project. I recently learned that she collected Octopus and decided I would make one now and then in her honor. She just started a kickstarter campaign and I wanted to take a min to introduce you to it. There is a link below to learn all about it! Ironically her kickstarter zentangle project inspired Day 69's card which was the fated to be given away today.

Check out her fresh Kickstarter campaign and score some fabulous zentangle rewards! Her tangles inspired Creature Day 69's background as seen below. She has had a wonderfully influential, encouraging and ongoing role in my life as an artist and I appreciate your support of her work!

Congratulations Kristina D/B you are today's winner! Your name was chosen at random from identical entries placed in my newest cap (I really love hats), and then hand selected by my 6 year old daughter Ashley. I like having her participate for a number of reasons, the most selfish being that I feel no guilt in selecting the winner and that things remain as fair and unbiased as I can reasonably offer them.

Eye was ex-eye-ted to combine a new ink technique with watercolors today. Eye think this creature would be qu-eye-te interesting to see in action.

Eye finished up with my f-eye-le cabinet today and got a lot of mail ready to go out. They will be on their way tomorrow. Eye did finally find the paperwork Eye was looking for, or at least something similar. It will have to do. As my brother always says, it was in the last place Eye looked.

Just a quick FYI, heads up kinda thing. When you submit your form I receive it in a personal email. When you receive reply's you are speaking directly to me. I don't make enough money to pay anyone to do much of anything for me lol. I make the website using an online hosting service, but I do all the updates and blogging, art and photography that you see here. Your information goes into my personal adress book in the Art friends folder. I list your preferences in contact there as well so I don't forget. It's really helpful for me when I get repeat winners or supporters. All the information is housed on my personal computer. Hope that just about covers it. Feel free to comment, enter, and contact knowing you are speaking directly to me.

I worked on one of my kickstarter custom cards today first trying to focus on that. Kaleb wasn't having it so we did the dishes and got them all finished. I was able to start on it later and get to a point where I feel I can present it for approval before coloring. I am hopeful that they like it. I'll let you see when it's all done. I think the supporter should get to see it first.

After that I created this ink creature. She looks much better in person as my recipients and fellow artist will attest that most art does. The one thing we haven't equaled yet, representing something to it's peak reality in a digital format.

Day 67
Congratulations Jeanne you are the winner of my first creature vinyl! Ashley picked your name out of a crouched Angry Birds hat we got from a local vendor on our way to Portland last time. For those who entered but were not drawn by tiny hands you can still win. Stop by to see what new creations become available!

So I'm going to finish with the files as best I can tomorrow and get them out of the way. I'm running up to my deadline on getting the kickstarter projects done so spring cleaning is going to have to wait. Time to kick it into creative overdrive. Just have to block the space out and get the work done. I've got 3, 8 x 10's to do and um 3 customs to do. Customs make me nervous beacuse I can't guarentee my work will please them and that has really begun to scare me. Blah, I'm not sure why. I just need to go for it. Nothing like a deadline to kill the fear. I'd rather make it again then be late. It's do-able... if I can focus. hehehehe At least my back is feeling better tonight.

So it's an ink for an ink today. Almost Biblical but not quite.
Congratulations Brenda you are today's default winner and you now have the opportunity to torture your grandson with this wonderful card should you choose to do so in the future. YAY!

3.5 x 2.5 in ATC Gouache and Ink on Watercolor Paper
Today is Ides of March recovery day with a migraine. Took me a while to find the card reader and get yesterday's blog completed. I figure if my health is failing as long as I can get the art made that day the post will come eventually. My back was better for most of the day and I tried to take it easy. It started to hurt again this evening. I'm really hoping it's not my kidney acting up.

No takers on this one so far. I'm going to photograph it after the glaze and get it posted to listia for you soon. Forgot to photograph it tonight and I need to lay back down. Ouch.

I started off the day with six loads of laundry and some work on my files. I cleaned and vacuumed and put all the clothes away. My mom came over to watch the kids for a little while so I could go see The Wizard of Oz in 3d at the Theatre. I haven't been in a theatre in a very long time and it was nice to watch. Some really fun and creative concepts. As the day started to wind down my body let me know I had done too much. My back started to ach terribly on the right side. I took some medications and was able to get this guy made but the I didn't have the wits about me to find my camera card to take the picture, so I went to bed. I use to be able to get so much more done in a day. Glad to get to see the movie though.

I'm part of an online trade group for illustrators. Every month I can be matched up with another artist for a trade and set up some other personal trades. To participate in the coolest trades I need a little experience in the system and some street cred, if you know what I mean. Plus they are great people to tell about The Creature Card Project. I feel strange pimping it sometimes but it's not like I'm trying to sell them anything lol. So I worked on a few of my trade / match requests after making this atc today. For it's small size this one reads well from a distance and would work nicely framed. I've included my trade cards below for your enjoyment. Click to enlarge.

I need to find a better way to get up in the morning. My sleep is beating my alarms more often then I'd like. Then it's much harder to get Ash to school. I've got the phone and the ipad. Sometimes the phone is dead or buried or quiet. Maybe setting something that makes me get up... boy will that be annoying, but it just might be necessary.

This is a good visual representation of how I felt today. My room/art space has gotten over cluttered and I can't find anything. It's frustrating. I know where something should be but once I have checked that location and it's not there I'm stumped. An even more intimidating dilema is presented when I put something in a "safe place." I should be thinking more along the lines of "the one place I'll never think to look in again."

I spend a lot of time talking to myself in my head. As if I expect myself to know, when my inner self is as cluttered as my room/art space and talks like a teenage girl on a cell phone. I look at her thinking, there is no way I can follow this conversation (of course the realization doesn't come until I've stared at her for a long time.)

I'm frustrated. My last doctor said it was a focus issue steaming from my various disabilities  Feels like memory to me. It's a struggle just to think about the order in which events occurred today but, like the doctor said, if I concentrate really hard I can pick thorough it well enough to function.

Not being able to find things is a motivational feeling, to think positive about the situation. I've begun cleaning. Lets say spring cleaning. It's spring after all. I've included a short slide show of my space. To give you an idea we are a family of three living in a two bedroom so my art lives with me. It really needs it's own room but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I make most of the creations you receive right in bed. I am hoping to get things organized to where I can utilize the equipement I have. I'm starting to get a kink in my back and feel rather lazy. I can accomplish art but if I don't get out of bed to do it... it feels a little less triumphant. Better than nothing.

Oh yeah, what was I looking for that I couldn't find? (This is how my brain works lately.) Well yesterday I said I mailed some creatures and if people didn't get theirs to let me know. I discovered, while looking for some va paperwork I couldn't find, that I had missed at least one atc and Sky Walker the three piece atc set that ended out last month. Trouble is, I put the Sky Walker in "a safe place." So I got a working file cabinet today for a deal and am going to begin the process of spring cleaning whilst looking for the sneaky and curious visitor from outer space.

As for the space the boxes are all empty for shipping. I have a number of items I intended to sell online, but I never get to it and they just take up a lot of space. It's time to break them down and make something funcional. What I would do to be a professional organizer.

So I caught Climby and Mohawk in a little spat over food and split them up. It was more like Climby was taking the food and poor Mohawk got nipped. It was a happy thought but won't work in the long run. Some of us just need our own space... and food dish.

I got a lot of shipping done today, finally. YAY! If you have won anything prior to day 60 and haven't received it in the next week or so please let me know. I don't believe I've missed anyone, but ya never know.

No winner on this one. Here is your listia auction link. Sorry to be a little behind on these. You can check the other blogs I will have them up too now. Good luck and Happy Bidding.

I picked up some vinyl toys at Michaels craft store while I was in Portland. A friend said they had some decent ones available. They don't have as many moving parts as the official dunny and munny's do, but I think that might be nice for me as a beginner. I used the markers that came with the toy to see how they worked. I decided that you would get the result of that test run. They sorta felt like sharpies. Very thick tips. Covered pretty well but hard to control smoothly. I'm hoping to find a good pen that will cover well but still afford me the detail and control I enjoy when working on little things. This character is about 3 inches tall... I should probably go measure it.

Today, yesterday's card and meditation came into play wonderfully. Life is all about perspective. Trudge on in hopes that you can get out the mud and clean off your boots one day.

Congratulation Billy you won this wonderfully crazy creature trio or is that all the same creature?? Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to decide on that and a name for this fabulous face. Are you up to the task?
