Final bid 2020 credits. This card is going to Colorado. I've been wanting to have more work done and needing to finish another commission recently. I should be able to get that one done tonight or todayish. wanted to make a simple creature today that I didn't spend too much time on at least initially. I have some ideas of what to do with this that might take a bit longer but we shall just have to see.
I did a special painting last night and finished it up today. It's basically a four piece image. Four cards of 3.5 x 2.5 inches in a square. The image is then cut up into the cards. I haven't quite cut it up yet... except in digital format. When split up the individual images are quite different. I enjoyed this and am considering doing more. I made this one to sell. Making a lot of art but not getting paid is starting to hurt in the pocket area. I think I'm going to take it cut up in top loaders to the gallery. Click the images to make them larger. Hit back to return to this page. I got lost trying this new (to me) feature.

Final bid 1510 credits. This card is going to Colorado. I don't want to get to into the details but I had to deal with someone today and I think this card might have been the representation of that interaction. Some people in this world are just amazing... and not in a good way.
On a happier note I got a great call today from a woman who is interested in having a portrait done of her dog. Probably in the summer time, but she will be coming in on Mothers day while I work at the gallery to discuss things. I am so glad to hear that I was not lost back in the corner. They worried me a little when we discussed the way customers usually flow through the space. It is nice to see positive gain from the changes so quickly. Now to figure out how to keep making cards and doing full size commissions at the same time. I need to find a way to do these in less time. My wallet has been giving me a really hard time lately for giving all my work away. Final bid 404 credits. This card will be going to Maryland! Name: Nukpana (Native American Hopi unisex name meaning "evil.") This creature is a male rock monster. I went into the gallery this morning to learn how to operate things. I will be working there on the 13th of this month for the first time. I'm so excited. It's really awesome to see my work up in such a great space. I didn't realize I was so low on things to sell. I've been making and making but since they are all given away or commissions I don't have any new work to show, but there is plenty there. Eventually I'll be able to have some more things.
This card was found in the shadows of the fibers. When the card is held up to the sun certain fibers are darker and I saw this in them. I elaborated some and made the background. Not sure but I think it will have a silver nose ring... maybe gold. Color wise I'm at a loss lol. Hopefully I get some suggestions. Final bid 737 credits. This card will be going to New York. I am now officially co-owner of For Artsake Gallery in Newport. I'll be working in the next few months to make them a website. When I get that going I'll make sure to share the link.
I have to remember to write this and publish it the day I did it not the next day. I have a hard time remembering what I did yesterday.... lets see. Oh I saw the Veterans Service Rep for a meeting. Then my friend and family went down to the gallery to put my prices up. Man I keep forgetting to take pictures of the place. I have some online long distance friends and fans who would like to see. We are going to do a reception for myself and the other new artist later this month. When the information for that is penned down I will also let you know :) Final bid 1558 credits. This card will be going to Colorado. So let me lay out this month's prelimianary plan. I'll have to see how it pans out as the month progresses and if it's something that is sustainable. I'm going to continue on in a similar fashion as last month but switch to painting with gouache. (Gouache is like watercolor in many ways but is opaque) I can't paint the gouache on until the kids are asleep in some way. So I thought I would draw out the card. Ink the card. And photograph it coloring book style. Then I will post that picture for the auction. People will be encouraged to make color suggestions. Then when it's bed time I'll paint the picture and photograph it again... possible the next day. Only time will tell how this is going to flow. It might be too much to accomplish as quickly as I have to do it but I'm going to try first :)
I started drawing a flower this card. Then at one point I saw little boots in the tusks of the dragon creature... I made little legs up from the boots. Somewhere along the line it changed into something even cooler. I like the gouache. The colors are very bright and there are more options. |
