Super long day and I'm running on a broken 2.5 hrs of sleep. So for now here is the daily creation. All of the purple portions were painted by Kaleb. I had intended to head to the grocery store tonight to pick up diapers. Once we were all ready to leave I realized that my keys were not where they should be. Kaleb had been playing with them earlier in the day. I apparently have to move my key nail up considerably. I put them there so when I want to leave I can leave. Otherwise there is an event that ensues, of which I enjoy not.... On the bright side we cleaned the house. I still need to vacuum but it's considerably better. As my brother would say, we found them the last place we looked. The very back corner of Kaleb's closet (after cleaning the whole room.) The problem was, it was already late when I remembered that I needed to get to the store. So by time I found the keys I was emotionally and physically exhausted and it was past the kids bedtime. There are sufficient supplies for my mother to survive tomorrow just not the prime supplies. The va rescheduled my Portland appointment last month to this month so I'm actually heading out tomorrow for that. I have to be there at 9am and it's a 3 - 4 hr drive. Plus my league is fighting the last fight of a war that we would win if we could beat the beast of a team we are up against. I must prepare my character for battle just prior to midnight and trust my teammates to hold down the fort as I venture forth. I really hope I can see my friend and eat some thai tomorrow. The two things I miss most about living in Portland. 1 inch square mini masterpiece Congratulations Suzie you are today's lucky winner! Since you won a listia card recently I've got these two packed up and ready to head out to you tomorrow! I'll drop them in the mail on my way out of town this morning. Today I have a pendant for you. I was working on an ATC order I recently received from a wonderful supporter of mine and printed a few extra little goodies to play with. This is one example. I printed out a 1 x 1 inch square drawing that I had done a LONG time ago but never finished. I used ink on top of the print to create the creature you see to the left. A similar original print version is to the right. I also took a couple pictures for you to show all the stamping I've been up to and the way a pendant looks right after the glaze goes on. Hope you like it. Good night! Woke up with a migraine. Then somewhere after lunch time Kaleb came to see me with a very wet sweater. I have various safety protocols in place to keep him out of most water sources when I have a migraine as long as Ashley is keeping them activated. Today she didn't flush the toilet after pooping and rushed out the bathroom leaving the door open. Kaleb then went into the bathroom and put a full roll of 1000 sheets of toilet paper into the toilet and all over the room. I had opted out of going to the store to get more toilet paper yesterday thinking the 1000 sheets would give me a couple more days before I needed to go out. Boy was I wrong. So we went to the store. I've got enough toilet paper to choke a camel. I did want to pick up some clay but forgot. At least there should be enough supplies to last me until my doc apt on Wen.
I could not fall sleep last night to save my life. I got a few hours of sleep somewhere around or after 6am. The kids and I went out at about 2pm to take my magnets down to Paper Mermaids, pick up some food, and hit a thrift store. (Gently of course, wouldn't want to get an assalt charge.) It was a really fruitful trip. I totally got my shop on. I even found a shirt that says "My Superpower is Shopping." I found some wonderful sweaters that fit great and are super comfy, a large supply of Styrofoam balls and shapes of various sizes (I use these on my sculptures,) and some toys for the little ones. This little creature is an inchie and very small. Depending on your screen you are seeing it larger than actual size. I couldn't decide on which side looked better up, since one makes for a nice sunset look while the other makes the figure more recognizable. I figured it was better to show you both and allow the winner to decide. I'm more than happy to put this on a pendant for you, make it into a magnet or just send you the inchie for you to do with as you please. Congratulations Daniel K you are the winner of this eye full.
I was feeling better enough to draw today so I spent a while working on one of the 8 x 10's I need finished to fulfill my kickstarter pledges. I have 4 more left to do. I think todays turned out well. I will eventually show them to you all. I just haven't decided hot to release them... per say. The recipients get to choose their preferences so I'm thinking to wait until they have had the chance to pick from the options before releasing them to the greater public. I have a war starting tonight on my facebook game so I wanted to be done before the end of the day like normal. I chose a splotch since the majority of the shading and coloring is already laid out on the card. Plus I want to keep in the splotch mode a little longer so I can keep working on 8 x 10's. I will offer you this little tasty teaser. Maybe you can guess what it is. :)
Kaleb wanted to draw today so we worked on ATC's. He is about 2 and a half years old. He is just starting to create representationally and it's very fun to watch. Today he drew his Grandma, Grandpa, Ashley sleeping on a couch and this pickle with arms. It's raining today, a lot.
I was feeling very under the weather today. I had wanted to take the new magnets I made down to paper mermaids and I really need to get some toilet paper, but I just couldn't get out. Most of the day was spent sleeping in as much dark and quiet as I could muster. Kaleb just leaves a nice mess of toys for me or sits with me and plays on the ipad, waking me up from time to time for more juice. My brain definitely doesn't feel inspired to create so it's nice to have the little ones around for inspiration. The winner gets BOTH pickle cards. Migraine day. This is one day I'd not have gone online if I had a choice. Maybe it's the sandman because I want to go to sleep. The silver and gold is sparkly or shinny in areas. This is from one of Kaleb's representational splotches.
Today I missed the wake up to get Ashley on the bus and had to take her in the car when I actually woke up. It's days like this where it would be nice to have a man around who can hear alarms better than I can. At least it would increase my odds of waking up on time. One day perhaps. Around noon my mom came over to watch Kaleb so my dad and I could take my display case down to Paper Mermaids. After that I went back on my own and filled it up with a variety of creature goodies. Today's piece is just the inchie. You can do whatever you like with it!
