I found out last night as I was falling asleep that my first Creature Support card sold! What a wonderful way to fall asleep. Then I woke up with a great song in my head. Here is a link to the youtube video for the song. I worked on my newest card after taking my daughter to school. I was really confronted by the decreased size. Trying to figure out what I could fit on it. It will be a challenge to get a whole creature on one, so I thought I'd just start with a portrait to get the feel of things. This might be the first time I've drawn on Smooth Bristol paper. WOW. I love it! It blends so smoothly. You can really see it in the mild haze I added behind the face. Getting that subtle of a blend would be very difficult with other paper types.
Once I got it done I realized I had missed a call and checked my voicemail. It was from one of the apartment complex's in Newport that I applied to. They are going to have an opening in March and they wanted to start the process of getting me verified! I'm so happy. I need to move very badly. My rent is just too much here. I won't quite cut it in half but I'll get close :) Today wasn't all sunshine and roses, but then that's life. One of my favorite auctions I just won from listia arrived in pieces. Not due to the fault of the shipper but the mistreatment from the postal service. It is hard to travel so far when your made of glass. Fortunately the seller has another of the piece that broke and we are going to try to get it here again... so there is still hope! Ah hope, such a very important thing. I wonder how to draw it? Final bid 754 credits. Won by the winner of the first card #1!
