Creature Card # 20 Ink Edition

Picture
ink 3.5 x 2.5 inch smooth bristol paper
Final bid 711 credits. This card will be staying in Oregon.

I started this card while waiting in the dentist office to get a filling. I had to leave Newport around 5:30am to drive in the thick rain to Portland for my appointments. Without giving you too much of the play by play day. I was able to get this done in the various waiting rooms of the day, but since I didn't get home until somewhere like 11:30 or so. I wasn't able to get the card photographed and blogged until today but it was made on the 20th. I started the feet after looking at a Tyrannosaurus Rex's "hand" area. Then I gave it the legs... overtime as I was shading it developed a butt there and I had to try to diminish that. I didn't want it feeling like nudity. Hopefully I was able to. That is what happens when you over think something.

Creature Card # 21 Ink Edition

Picture
ink 3.5 x 2.5 inch smooth bristol paper
Final bid 848 credits. This card will be staying in Oregon.

This creature started off inspired by the buck teeth of Sandy from spongebob. I wanted to make some extreme buck teeth. Then added the upper lip and two large eyes... but I thought I want this to be some less obvious. I decided to do two heads next to each other. I added the extra "teeth" which turned into the body and continued to this. I am enjoying combining line and the dots together.

It is interesting to find out that you are drawn to a card that happens to also be a dentist office card lol. They would make a nice pair :) Love you too.
