Creature Card #7 Gouache Edition "The Repuglican Maneating Praying Chamelian"

Final bid 1985 credits. This card is going to California. The repuglican maneating praying chamelian is a man eater similar to a venus fly trap that can disguise itself as many different attractive resting spots in the middle of his/her shrubbery like head. The attractive spots trigger the mouth to close on suitable applied pressure.

This card started one turn to the right. It was a dragon like creature but I wasn't so set on it. As the card developed I felt it had a flower feeling. Then it needed to be different than just a flower. Even though there is no one eating at the table I think the plant could be carnivorous and the set up is just a trap for small pixies... or something like that :)
