I was noticing how much I liked the look of the cards when I work with the negative space. They end up being a complete narrative moment.

I didn't want to out today but I needed to go to the bank, wanted to pick up some food for the kids to eat,  and had to drop by the gallery to get my final checks and give up my key. That reminds me I still have half an Alaskan fish sandwich in my purse... hmm.

Congratulations to Brock Toothacker you are the winner of the "Moosataur" should you decide to retain that name for your creature. If anyone would like to purchase a print and support the project you can find this fellow at this link. Creature #51

I'm so glad this Moosataur will be heading home to it's native Maine habitat I mean main habitat... or do I ;) I was very surprised to see how the great mustached Monsieur did in the auction. It feels good to have a piece be successful. I never know which one is going to stick so I take the best pictures I can of them. That way I can make a print that is, in my opinion, a good second when an original is not available. It is fabulous to have such wonderful loyal family / friends / fans! The fearsome Threefs are we!

Did you see my painting? It was inspired by Paul Klee,I have a original of his,It's the bomb! Do you think mine sucks? I guess anyone could paint a "Klee" I call it Brockklee.

Yes Brock I did get the image you sent me this morning. I was planning to ask you about it but got distracted and ended up doing some dishes. Which is good, but sometimes I have to be reminded. I wanted to ask you if the work was a splotch and if you wanted me to share it or comment on it. I'm terrible with names but remember images. I'll have to see if I know Klee and check out his work to see the context of where your inspirations originated. I remember being happy you sent it and that I enjoyed it. I'll have to look more to give you a thorough critique if your after that :)

On a holiday with a mountain ice wizard. Riding high :) They do remind me of the monkeys now that you mention it.

I'm happy to hear you have found the work and words entertaining :) It is still strange for me to write about my life and think anyone would find it interesting. It is nice to finally hear from you. If I may ask how did you find the blog? Sometimes on here I can't tell who people are so forgive me if I know you lol and I'm pleased to meet you if I don't.

You are officially entered to win this create :) GOOD LUCK!

Nice to meet you too! I followed one of the creature cards back from listia, where it caught my eye.

It's fun getting a little glimpse into someone else's life. Someone you don't know. Exciting to see how people are different, yet comforting to learn that we all share so much: the aggravations, anxieties, joys and triumphs of a day. So your blog allows me to do that. So thanks.

Plus it has fun pictures to go with the words. :) Enjoy reading how you make your art. Not technique so much as inspiration and mental process. And then we get to see the result. Pretty cool.

Working up to a blog myself, and really like how you've structured yours around your daily card. Imagine it keeps you motivated. Know I would slack and skip days unless I had similar accountability.

I'm glad shifting the non winning cards back to Listia is working out and that you found your way here. Especially since...

YOU WON!

Congratulations. This super awesome duel creature extravaganza is yours completely free, thanks to the many supporters of the project. I hope you will take a moment to consider a name and story for the card. Maybe seeing it in person will inspire you!

Your words are very encouraging. I understand the feeling. It is interesting how we initially perceive people especially online. When you can't hear their voice, see their face or know their situation. We often assume the success of a person is based on their presentation of themselves and their work online and I know I'm finding that is a rather romantic view of life lol.

I'm glad you find the interaction of day vs art to be intriguing. I forget to talk about process. I think, for me, at least on the daily work so far it has been so much more about the daily experience then the process itself. Although I have been encouraged to video the process... one of these days I'll remember to do that.

Once you get your blog going send over a link. I have found that I personally work better with deadlines. This half of the project was funded through kickstarter which gives me even more motivation to stay on task than just my personal goal. Now if I could just make more personal goals where my commission are concerned. There are definitely going to be days were the work is better than other days. The forcing part leads to this, but the fab days sorta make up for it. It is hard for me, knowing all I know about presenting yourself, to showcase the less than top work. It's even frustrating to make it. Such is life though.

Glad to have you. When you get a chance send me your mailing information through the contact page on this site. Have a great day!
Rhonda
