So I finally got a good piece of mail from the VA. It's only taken them three years to change their minds and 6 years to decide, but the government has approved my disability for migraines at the percentage I believe the symptoms warranted based on their guidelines. Yay!

I have a nice little back pay check on the way that will help me pay off my credit cards, medical bills, and get some new tires for my car (they are balder than a hairless cat on chemotherapy.) Sorry bad joke. I'm happy, but not as happy as I thought. Mostly, I think, because of shock. I've been waiting a very long time to hear from them and I just want to make sure it sticks before I let it fully sink in. When the bills are paid I will feel much more peace. I'm so glad that day is going to be seen. I've been feeling very stuck without hope these last months, I'm not sure how to feel different than that. I don't want to over-react and put myself in a bad spot. Trying to stay calm when I feel like this ink tiki fellow. He is still and solid yet smiling, and boy can he smile.
