Robot and Fairy Commission

I wanted to share a couple finished commissions with you. They went to Illinois.

This little fairy is a custom creature card made in exchange for the purchase of a ticket to my Raw show in February. She is done in ink and watercolors. You can see a video from the show on the main page of this website. I really appreciate all the support from friends, family, and fans. 

Below we have an actual 5 x 7 commissioned Robot, to be done in my creature style. This one is particularly hard to photograph. The silver areas are a metallic ink that shines in the light. The tealish green colors is also sparkly. I chose to go with the reflective inks instead of trying to make the areas seem shinny from other techniques. It was very challenging to create a creature based on a commission due to the way I normally make my creatures. 

I have learned through this process that, as much as I enjoy doing portrait commissions, commissions for creatures is not very much fun for me. I'm going to stick to the people and just make the free association creatures. If someone likes what is made they are welcome to purchase it. Forcing the style to make something specific to please a client is very very difficult for me. Good learning experience.
